Acequia Madre Families,
Happy New Year! I would like to thank Emily Waltz for purchasing and organizing our farolito display, Steve Barrett for shoveling truckloads of sand, Charles Doerwald’s company, El Toro Landscape, for taking down 2000 farolitas after the snow storm, and all the people that helped set-up and light the farolitos on Christmas Eve. And, of course, I would like to recognize all of the work our students put into this festive tradition. Every student was a part of the effort to make this happen. It was magical to see this beautiful display for the first time.
SOCK DRIVE
One of our students, Richard, from 4th grade, is hosting an Acequia Madre sock drive. There will be a donation box near the gym. He will be collecting from January 7th to 18th. On the 18th, he and his mom will take the socks to St. Elizabeth’s Shelter and Pete’s Place Shelter.
SCIENCE FAIR
4th, 5th and 6th grade Science Fair is next Tuesday, January 15th. Judges from the District will be coming to work with our students throughout the day. We are so proud of their commitment and hard work!
We are inviting parents and the Kindergarten to 3rd grade students to observe the projects from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. on the 15th.
Our next PTC Meeting will be held Thursday, January 31st, at 5:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
